PT Kilang Pertamina Balikpapan (PT KPB) is the management company for the Balikpapan & Lawe-Lawe Refinery Development Master Plan (RDMP) Project. This project is part of the National Strategic Project (PSN) where Pertamina was assigned to develop and operate an oil refinery in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan. The total area of this refinery development project is 80.64 hectares which will increase the production capacity of the Balikpapan Refinery from 260 thousand barrels per day (kbph) to 360 thousand barrels per day (kbph) and improve product quality from the EURO II standard to the higher EURO V standard. environmentally friendly and of higher quality with more economical consumption levels.

PT Kilang Pertamina Balikpapan (PT KPB)'s commitment to optimizing the performance of the Balikpapan & Lawe-Lawe Refinery Development Master Plan (RDMP) is carried out through the largest Residual Fluid Catalytic Cracking (RFCC) unit technology. RFCC is one of the main supporting equipment for RDMP Balikpapan & Lawe-Lawe which functions to increase the profitability of the Pertamina refinery by processing residues into high-value products. The RFCC unit can increase the margin of the Pertamina refinery in Balikpapan with high value production including Gasoline, LPG and Propylene. The resulting Gasoline product will meet EURO V specifications and have an octane value (RON) of 92.
