Pre Dry Out RFCC Regenerator, Wow, What's That?

Friday, 17 February 2023

To maintain the optimal condition of the equipment without any damage during the construction period, the Pre-Dry Out process has been carried out and is running successfully.

Pre-Dry Out is a preservation activity which aims to reduce the water/moisture content in the refractory so that the quality of the refractory is maintained until the Final Dry Out during commissioning. The location is in the 1st & 2nd Regenerator equipment (C-052-10 & C-052-11).

How do I do it?

The process starts from initial heating of the refractory material that has been installed in the regenerator equipment where the heating rate and holding time are controlled with the aim of removing water/moisture without damaging the refractory. After completion of the holding period, cooling continues at a rate of 50DegC for 2 hours and will continue with natural cooling according to the ambient temperature.
