Tuesday, 15 July 2025

As part of efforts to cultivate high-quality human resources and ensure equitable access to education, KPB Officers from PT Kilang Pertamina Balikpapan (KPB) collaborated with Baituzzakah Pertamina Balikpapan (Bazma) and the Islamic Da’wah Board (BDI) KPB to distribute school supply packages to 225 underprivileged students in the city of Balikpapan. This annual program was held on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at the Banua Patra Pertamina Balikpapan Cinema Building. A total of 225 students received assistance, comprising 78 elementary school students, 82 junior high school students, and 65 senior high school students.

Each package includes a school bag, complete stationery, textbooks, shoes, and pocket money. In addition to the distribution of packages, the event also featured a brief religious talk to strengthen the participants' faith and piety.

Committee Chairman Rissaldi Zain stated, “We extend our heartfelt gratitude to PT KPB, Bazma, and BDI KPB for this highly motivating assistance. This comprehensive package not only alleviates the material burden but also demonstrates genuine concern for the future of our children’s education,” he explained. One of the beneficiaries, Safa Putri from SMA Negeri 7 Balikpapan, expressed her gratitude for the school supplies package. “I will make the best use of all the supplies and they will motivate me to continue studying,” she said.

Through this support, it is hoped that students will be increasingly motivated to pursue their education and develop strong moral values without being hindered by economic limitations. PT KPB, Bazma, and BDI KPB are committed to continuing to expand their education and community empowerment programs to achieve energy independence and national progress.

Asep Sulaeman, Vice President of Legal & Relations at PT KPB, also stated that this program reflects the humanitarian values the company has consistently upheld. “By collaborating with religious institutions and social partners, we believe the positive impact will be sustainable in shaping the future of the next generation.”

This initiative aligns with the 4th Mission of Asta Cita, which is to strengthen human resource development through education. By distributing school supply packages and conducting motivational talks, this program concretely demonstrates the support of the corporation and social partners in strengthening human resource quality as the foundation for sustainable national growth.
