Spirit of Sharing Rajut Kebamaan Welcoming Eid al-Adha 1446 H, PT KPB Spread 36 Sacrificial Animals for Residents of Balikpapan City and PPU Regency

Welcoming Eid al-Adha 1446 H, PT Kilang Pertamina Balikpapan (KPB) distributed 36 sacrificial animals to the community around the Balikpapan RDMP Project and Lawe-Lawe. The delivery of sacrificial animals began on June 4, 2025, and the slaughtering process is scheduled to take place on June 6 to 8, 2025.

By carrying out the spirit of Sharing Energy & Blessings for All, PT KPB distributed sacrificial animals consisting of 18 cows and 18 goats to various community groups, ranging from government agencies, villages around the project area, Islamic boarding schools, social welfare institutions for children and the elderly, community organizations, to trade unions and media personnel. This distribution was carried out evenly in the two main project areas, namely Balikpapan City and Penajam Paser Utara Regency (PPU).

One of the sacrificial animals distributed this year is a limousin cow weighing ± 600 kg, as a symbol of gratitude for PT KPB's 6th Anniversary journey, as well as a momentum of reflection on the company's contribution to society and the nation.

President Director of PT KPB, Bambang Harimurti, said that this activity is not only the distribution of sacrificial animals, but also strengthens the bond of togetherness with the surrounding community. "Eid al-Adha teaches us about sincerity and caring. PT KPB sees it as an opportunity to share the energy of kindness, as well as strengthen social relations in our operational areas. This is also part of the implementation of the AKHLAK culture that we continue to uphold," he said.

Meanwhile, PT KPB's VP Legal & Relations, Asep Sulaeman, added that this program has become an annual routine agenda since the company's establishment. "We believe that the success of this project is also supported by a harmonious relationship with the community. Through the qurbani program, we want to continue to be present and provide real benefits. May the blessings of Eid al-Adha be felt by all parties, both the community and PT KPB officers," he said.

This qurbani activity is a tangible manifestation of PT KPB's contribution in upholding the value of “Environmental Harmony, Culture, and Religious Tolerance” in accordance with the Asta Cita of the President of the Republic of Indonesia. Through continuous collaboration with local communities and various elements of society to support efforts to create inclusive and sustainable social ties in the KPB operational area.

As the manager of the Balikpapan & Lawe-Lawe RDMP National Strategic Project (PSN), PT KPB also focuses on three main objectives-increasing processing capacity from 260 kbpd to 360 kbpd, improving product quality from Euro 2 standard to Euro 5 equivalent, and enriching refinery complexity for operational efficiency and product range expansion. With the successful development of better energy infrastructure, KPB not only focuses on the technical side, but is also committed to the development of the surrounding community, making the sacrificial program an integral part of corporate social responsibility.
