Ramadan is a momentum of togetherness for Balikpapan & Lawe-Lawe RDMP Project workers. As a form of appreciation and care, PT Kilang Pertamina Balikpapan (KPB) again held the Iftar On The Site 2025 program, which has entered its third year.
A total of 1,500 iftar food packages were distributed directly to project workers in the inaugural session which took place on Friday (7/3). This activity will continue to be carried out every Friday during Ramadan, bringing the spirit of togetherness and solidarity to thousands of workers.
PT KPB's Director of Operations, Arafat Bayu Nugroho, together with PT KPB's Director of Finance & Business Support, Nailul Achmar, as well as the management were present and distributed the iftar packages directly to the workers. “Behind this magnificent construction, there are thousands of hands working hard. And the togetherness in this activity is extraordinary. We hope that Iftar On The Site can be an encouragement for workers in the middle of the fasting month to continue to worship well while carrying out their duties,” said Bayu.
VP Legal & Relation of PT KPB, Asep Sulaeman, added that this activity is also part of an effort to strengthen the relationship between management and workers. “We want to ensure that every worker feels valued and part of PT KPB's big family. Ramadan is the right time to strengthen togetherness, and we hope that the spirit of Energizing Our Faith will be a positive energy for all involved in this project,” said Asep.
As a National Strategic Project (PSN), Balikpapan RDMP has recorded significant achievements where until the end of February 2025 it has reached 92.66% progress with a workforce of 44% of which are local workers. In addition, the project, which absorbs up to 24,000 people during the peak construction period, has a Domestic Content Level (TKDN) of 33.85%, which has been verified by an independent surveyor in September 2024. The project is expected to be fully operational soon in supporting Indonesia's Energy Security, Independence and Sovereignty.
In addition to strengthening togetherness, PT KPB ensures that the project continues to run with the highest safety standards during Ramadan. Safety first culture continues to be prioritized so that every process remains safe and smooth. In addition, PT KPB is committed to always building a harmonious work environment by strengthening relationships with all workers. This is in line with the initiative of the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises in supporting the President's Asta Cita. With the spirit of sharing and togetherness, PT KPB hopes that this Ramadan will bring blessings to all workers and the surrounding community.
