PT KPB Successfully Holds “Energizing Our Iman”, a Series of Ramadan Activities for Officers and the Community

PT Kilang Pertamina Balikpapan (KPB) has completed a series of Ramadan activities entitled “Energizing Our Iman” which took place throughout the month of Ramadan 2025. This program consists of six main activities, in line with the 6th anniversary of PT KPB which will fall in May with the aim of strengthening togetherness and increasing social care for the environment around the project. Overall, the program managed to reach more than 9,500 beneficiaries, including project workers, orphans, poor people, and communities around the refinery.

Energizing Our Faith has a broader meaning than just providing energy. This program invites all officers to feel the enthusiasm, spirit, and positive energy in increasing faith, especially in the month of Ramadan and encourages the spirit of sharing and caring. Through various activities, PT KPB wants to create a more harmonious environment and full of togetherness, both within the company and with the surrounding community.

President Director of PT KPB, Bambang Harimurti, said that Ramadan is a moment of reflection and sharing that is expected to strengthen the relationship between the company and the community. “Through Energizing Our Faith, we not only want to strengthen togetherness in PT KPB's internal environment, but also bring tangible benefits to the surrounding community. This program is a form of our concern in creating harmony between the company and the surrounding environment,” he said.

Starting the whole series of activities as part of strengthening spiritual values, PT KPB held Energizing Ramadhan, in the form of thematic studies and interactive tausiahs attended by hundreds of officers to increase religious understanding during the holy month. Furthermore, in Energizing Iftar & Iftar On The Site, PT KPB distributed 6,600 iftar packages to Balikpapan and Lawe-Lawe RDMP Project workers, and held an iftar with stakeholders attended by the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) of Balikpapan City and PPU Regency, Forkopimcam, Head of Village around the project area, as well as representatives from various related agencies from security institutions, banks and Pertamina Group.

In the peak event titled Energizing New Fitrah, as many as 800 PT KPB workers participated in breaking the fast with orphans and dhuafa. This activity is also a moment to distribute compensation to the Child Social Welfare Institution (LKSA) & people with disabilities in Balikpapan City. A total of 6 LKSA were involved during the series of activities with the value of compensation reaching Rp 36 million.

As part of the commitment to revive the values of Ramadan, PT KPB also held Energizing Recite Al-Qur'an, where 23 groups of PT KPB officers participated in the Al-Qur'an recitation program. Every 1 juz read received a reward of Rp 60,000, which was then collected as a donation. This program not only increases worship but also fosters a spirit of sharing among PT KPB officers.

In addition to the worship aspect, PT KPB also held an Energizing Bazaar which was attended by 9 tenants from various functions in KPB and sold Ramadan and Eid needs. Starting from clothes, takjil, to typical Eid food, this bazaar was enthusiastically welcomed by all PT KPB Officers.

As a form of social care, PT KPB also carried out Energizing Others, which included the Eid Shirt Sharing program for 60 orphans and poor people, as well as the distribution of 2,025 basic food packages and Eid packages to people in need.

PT KPB Vice President (VP) Legal & Relations, Asep Sulaeman, emphasized that the company's existence must bring benefits to the surrounding community. “We understand that the sustainability of the company is not only determined by operational performance, but also by harmonious relationships with the community. Through 'Energizing Our Faith', we want to strengthen synergies with the surrounding environment and have a positive impact on those in need,” he said.

As the manager of the Balikpapan Refinery Development Master Plan (RDMP) Project, PT KPB has a strategic role in improving national energy security. This project is one of the National Strategic Projects (PSN) which is in line with the President's Asta Cita, especially in strengthening national resilience and national independence. With this project, the production capacity of the Balikpapan Refinery will increase by 100 thousand barrels per day (kbpd) from the previous 260 kbpd to 360 kbpd, supporting national energy availability, as well as opening opportunities for local and national economic growth.

Through the Energizing Our Faith program, PT KPB not only focuses on business sustainability, but also ensures that its existence provides tangible benefits to the community. This spirit of sharing and togetherness is expected to continue to inspire and strengthen the relationship between the company and the surrounding community.
