Thursday, 19 June 2025

PT Kilang Pertamina Balikpapan again held a Blood Donation activity on June 18, 2025, close to the commemoration of World Blood Donor Day. This activity is a form of the company's commitment to social care and the promotion of a healthy living culture for employees and the surrounding community.

The event was held in collaboration with the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) Balikpapan Blood Donor Unit (UDD) at the Lobby of the New Site Office (NSO) Building of PT Kilang Pertamina Balikpapan.

PT Kilang Pertamina Balikpapan's Director of Finance and Business Support, Nailul Achmar, also donated blood and appreciated the enthusiasm of the participants. “A drop of blood is very valuable because it can save one life,” he said. Nailul also emphasized that organizing a blood donation near World Blood Donor Day strengthens the meaning of global solidarity in saving lives.

The blood donation event was open to all officers who qualified as donors. High enthusiasm was reflected in the number of registrants as many as 121 people who voluntarily registered themselves.

Although some participants were unable to continue the blood donation process, the spirit of solidarity and caring remained the main highlight of this activity. Blood donation also offers health benefits for donors, such as free health checks before donation, early detection of medical conditions, and increased production of new blood cells that nourish the body.

VP Legal and Relation of PT Kilang Pertamina Balikpapan, Asep Sulaeman, said, "Blood donation is not just about giving, but about saving lives. By organizing a blood donation, it confirms our concern for the need for safe blood and a culture of caring in the company environment," he explained.

Asep continued, the KPB officer's blood donation activity is also in order to support the development of human resources (HR) and public health. “Blood donation strengthens health aspects, social solidarity, and improves community welfare - in line with the 4th mission objective of Asta Cita in building the quality of healthy and productive human resources,” he explained.

PT Kilang Pertamina Balikpapan expressed its deepest appreciation to UDD PMI Balikpapan for the synergy and support that continues to exist, as well as to all Officers who have actively participated. We encourage all company personnel to make blood donation as part of a healthy and empathetic lifestyle, and hope that similar activities can continue to be carried out regularly to support national blood needs.
