KPB Holds Mindful Eating Program as Part of Its Commitment to Employee Health

Thursday, 17 September 2026

Balikpapan, September 17, 2026 — PT Kilang Pertamina Balikpapan (KPB) held a Mindful Eating program at Benua Patra on Wednesday (September 9), demonstrating the company’s commitment to ensuring that all employees remain healthy and fit amid their demanding work activities.

The event, attended by 72 participants, marked the opening of the three-month Health Program Sehat, Bugar, Senang, Produktif (SEBUSE PRO).

VP of Legal & Relations of PT Kilang Pertamina Balikpapan, Asep Sulaeman, said the company wanted to emphasize that employee health is not merely a concept, but a priority that is actively supported through concrete and sustainable programs.

As part of the program, employees received education on the concept of mindful eating from Nur Hasanah, S.Gz, a nutritionist from Hermina Hospital. The session covered topics ranging from recognizing the body’s nutritional needs and understanding hunger and fullness cues to building a healthier relationship with food.

The educational session was complemented by a cooking demonstration led by healthy food entrepreneur Illma Firdiany, who demonstrated practical ways to incorporate a healthy and balanced diet into everyday life.

The event was conducted interactively through presentations, discussions, and a cooking demonstration, with participants showing enthusiasm and active engagement throughout the program.

Through this approach, participants were encouraged to become more mindful when choosing food, enjoy the eating process, recognize their hunger and fullness cues, and reduce the habit of eating in a rush.

KPB’s focus on employee health is also closely aligned with the company’s current position in the advanced stages of the Refinery Development Master Plan (RDMP) Balikpapan project, following the completion of the construction phase and moving toward the commissioning and operational testing stages.

Amid the ongoing dynamics of the project, ensuring that all employees remain healthy and fit is essential so they can perform their responsibilities optimally throughout every stage of the project’s development.

Asep expressed his hope that the program would serve as both a reminder and an invitation for all personnel across the company to consistently care for their own health as well as the well-being of their colleagues, helping to create a healthy, safe, and supportive work environment that prioritizes workplace safety.
