KPB Healthy Together: Caring Touch through Mass Circumcision & SADARI, a Realization of the Company's Social Commitment to the Surroundings

In commemoration of its 6th Anniversary, PT Kilang Pertamina Balikpapan (KPB) reaffirms its commitment to grow with the community through the KPB Sehat Bersama program. This program includes two main activities, namely Mass Circumcision and Early Detection of Breast Cancer (SADARI), which target the community around the refinery and the company's partners.

The entire series of activities was centered at Pertamina Panorama Balikpapan Hospital, starting with an initial examination on May 22-23, then the main implementation on May 24, and closed with post-activity follow-up on May 27-28, 2025. A total of 60 children participated in mass circumcision, while 60 women participated in SADARI activities, which began with a health talk with Dr. Andrian Sitompul, Sp.B.

"KPB does not only want to be a pillar of future energy, but also a social pillar that is present and close to the community. Through mass circumcision and SADARI, we want to build awareness of the importance of maintaining preventive health. This is also part of KPB's 6th anniversary celebration series," said Asep Sulaeman, VP Legal & Relations of PT Kilang Pertamina Balikpapan.

In the SADARI counseling session, participants were given an understanding of the importance of early detection as a crucial step in preventing and treating breast cancer. This education is very relevant, especially for women of productive age, to increase awareness of the risk of cancer and the importance of routine examinations every year.

This program is also a form of KPB's support for the Asta Cita of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, especially the 4th point which emphasizes the development of healthy, smart and productive human resources. Through KPB Sehat Bersama, the company contributes to creating a healthy and competitive society.

This activity received appreciation from various parties. One of the SADARI participants, Putri Rahima, revealed, "This is very helpful, especially for women of productive age like me. There are still many who are not aware of the importance of SADARI. Thank you PT KPB, hopefully it will continue to be successful."

Meanwhile, a parent of a circumcision participant named Erik expressed his hope that activities like this can be held regularly. "We are very grateful. Hopefully this activity can continue to be carried out every year," he said.

Appreciation was also expressed by Pertamina Panorama Balikpapan Hospital, which was involved as an implementing partner. All medical services are carried out by professionals as a form of synergy in the promotion and prevention of public health. "It is an honor for us to be trusted as an implementing partner for this social activity. Hopefully it will be a blessing and bring wide benefits," said the Director of Pertamina Panorama Balikpapan Hospital, Dr. Jasril Hardiyanto.

For KPB, this program is not just a form of corporate social responsibility, but also a reflection of the value of sustainability and the spirit of mutual cooperation. Because building a refinery is an industrial commitment, but building closeness and community empowerment is a humanitarian commitment.
