Tuesday, 18 March 2025

“I'm really happy! I can choose my own clothes, so I can wear what I like the most for Lebaran,” said Keira, one of the Energizing Others program participants: Sharing Eid Clothes, full of enthusiasm.

A total of 60 orphans and poor children around the Balikpapan Refinery Development Master Plan (RDMP) project felt extraordinary happiness when invited to shop for Eid clothes and necessities at the Balikpapan City shopping center. This activity is part of the Ramadan Energizing Our Iman program initiated by PT Kilang Pertamina Balikpapan (KPB) to bring more benefits to the surrounding community.

VP Legal & Relation of PT KPB, Asep Sulaeman, emphasized that this activity is not only about sharing, but also providing valuable experiences for children. “They are free to choose the Eid clothes and equipment they like, something they may not have experienced before. This is a moment of happiness that we want to bring,” he said.

In this activity, 30 KPB volunteer officers accompanied the children, helping them choose clothes with great care. One of the volunteers, Rizki Rianti, revealed that this program is always looked forward to. “For us, it's not just about sharing, but also building closeness with the community. Seeing their smiles is a blessing in itself,” she said.

Dhana, one of the other volunteers, shared a memorable moment while assisting the participants. “Alhamdulillah, all the children were very happy. Galang, for example, initially had difficulty finding the long robe he wanted, but finally found it near the escalator. While Habibah, after all her needs were met, chose to buy something for her sister at home. This is proof that freedom of choice really gives them happiness,” he said.

The event was then closed with breaking the fast together, creating an atmosphere of warmth and togetherness between the children, companions, and PT KPB Officers.

In addition to sharing happiness with orphans and the poor, PT KPB also held an Energizing Ramadan Bazaar, presenting various tenants from each function who sell Ramadan and Eid needs. Starting from clothes, takjil, to Eid specialties, this bazaar was enthusiastically welcomed by all PT KPB Officers.

One of the tenants that caught the eye was Zam's Wholesale from the finance function, which sells basic necessities at half the market price, where half is a form of charity. This initiative is a tangible manifestation of the spirit of sharing in the month of blessings.

As the manager of the Balikpapan and Lawe-Lawe RDMP National Strategic Projects (PSN), PT KPB continues to be committed to realizing the spirit of collaboration between the company and the community, creating real social impact. This initiative is also in line with the President's Asta Cita program, especially in the aspects of Environmental Harmony, Culture, and Tolerance, and supports the vision of the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises in encouraging synergy between the business world and the community.

With these various social programs, PT KPB hopes to continue building a more inclusive and empowered environment, where care and togetherness can grow, providing benefits for all.
