Progress of the Balikpapan RDMP Managed by PT Kilang Pertamina Balikpapan (KPB), Modification of the P-7 Tank Has Been Completed

The P-7 tank is a tank with an Internal Floating Roof (IFR) with a capacity of 35 thousand barrels. During the course of the RDMP project, the P-7 tank will be utilized to increase the allocation of storage tanks for light naphtha products.

Well, Light Naphtha is an important component in gasoline production. The use of the P-7 tank as a light naphtha tank is part of maintaining the reliability of the Pertamina Balikpapan Refinery in producing gasoline while the RDMP Project is running.

The P-7 tank is one of the tanks carried out by PT Wijaya Karya (WIKA) since 2019. The work carried out includes rebuilding the existing tank, adding an internal floating roof and adding a circulation vent as an effort to increase safety in tank operation. The P-7 tank was hydrocarbon first filled with light naphtha products on February 1 2023. The work on this tank was entirely carried out by Indonesian workers.
