Creating an Environmentally Friendly Refinery, the Lifting Spray Tower was Successfully Carried Out at the Balikpapan RDMP Project

Friday, 31 March 2023

#SobatKilang, one of the important equipment in the Balikpapan RDMP project called Spray Tower with tag number A-052-10-C1 was officially installed on Friday (31/3) morning. Even though it was hot in the holy month of Ramadhan, this did not dampen the enthusiasm of the Officers and all Balikpapan RDMP Project Workers to complete this mandate. With dimensions weighing 377.2 tons and a height of 69.8 meters, it was lifted using a crane weighing 1600 tons.

The Spray Tower functions to process exhaust gas from the RFCC unit to meet emission requirements in accordance with international emission standards (IFC World Bank 2016), namely SOx maximum 300 mg/Nm3 and Particulate Matter maximum 25 mg/Nm3.

Wow, what's that? So, South Korean-made equipment produced by KHPT, a company that specializes in the industrial fields of power plant construction, chemical equipment fabrication, and storage tank fabrication, is one of the main supporting tools for reducing the impact of environmental pollution.

With this tool, PT KPB has ensured that the exhaust gas from the RFCC unit meets international standards thereby reducing the impact of air pollution in accordance with the objectives of the Balikpapan RDMP project.

As the manager of National Strategic Projects, PT KPB is committed to prioritizing domestic component elements by prioritizing TKDN (Domestic Component Level) in the manufacturing process up to the installation of each equipment. In this lifting, even though the equipment was made from abroad, the installation was carried out by hundreds of RDMP Balikpapan project workers who participated in synergy in installing the spray tower equipment. As additional information, #SobatKilang currently TKDN from EPC ISBL and OSBL PT KPB has reached 23.75% compared to the target of 35% based on standards set by the P3DN Team (Increasing the Use of Domestic Production) of the Indonesian Ministry of Industry.
